In this article, I will show you how to turn off these message requests on Instagram on Android devices, but the steps are pretty much the same for iOS devices. So, you can also follow the same set of instructions to turn off Instagram DM requests on iPhone.
You need to know, this ability to disable Instagram message requests is not available on the desktop website. So you can only do it from the Instagram app to be able to access certain Settings page. Follow the steps below to turn off message requests on Instagram:
1. First, open profile Bro and open the hamburger menu (button three horizontal lines) from the top right corner. Here, tap Arrangement in the below section.
2. Next, open Privacy and proceed to section Message.
3. Under the Message Controls page, tap Friends of Friends on Facebook and then select the option Don’t Accept Requests.
4. Likewise, tap More on Instagram and select Don’t Accept Requests if you don’t want to receive DM requests from unknown people.

There he is. You have now disabled message requests on Instagram and Facebook. People other than your followers or those you follow will not be able to message you on this photo sharing platform.
