By default, the Password Protected Sharing feature is active on the computer Windows 11/10. However, you can turn it off whenever you want.

How to Disable Password Protected Sharing in Windows 11/10 via Registry Editor
1. Press Windows+R to open a dialog box Run.
2. Type: regedit in the text field, and click OK or press Enter to launch the Registry Editor.
3. Click Yes on request UAC (User Account Control) emerging.
4. Then navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlLsa
5. then double click on: everyoneincludeanonymous REG_DWORD
6. Enter 1 under Value data and click OK to save changes.
7. Next, navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesLanmanServerParameters
8. Then double click on: restrictnullsessaccess REG_DWORD
9. Enter 0 under Value data and click OK to save changes.
10. Close Registry Editor and restart your PC to apply the changes.

How to Disable Password Protected Sharing in Windows 11/10 via Local Users and Groups
1. Press windows+R to to open a dialog box Run.
2. Type: lusrmgr.msc in the text field, and click OK or press Enter to launch the window Local Users and Groups.
2. Click on the entry Users on the right.
3. Next, right click on Guest and select Properties from the context menu.
4. Now, check the box Password never expires and uncheck the others, and click OK to save changes.
5. Restart PC you to apply the changes.
