James Gunn Reveals the Origins of the Rocket Raccoon!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would be an ambitious film for James Gunn. How come? The film was Gunn’s farewell to the MCU. After the film’s release, Gunn will begin to shift his focus to DC Studios, after being lined up as its leader.
Even though Gunn joined DC Studios, he guaranteed that he would make the third Guardians of the Galaxy film the best closing film. Recently, James Gunn conducted an interview with Entertainment Weekly to talk about movies Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
In the interview, James Gunn said that he wanted to end the Guardians trilogy and explore Rocket Raccoon’s backstory in detail. It is stated that the figure who has created Rocket is a High Evolutionary, villains new MCU played by Chukwudi Iwuji.
“He was fine as an ordinary animal, and he turned into something he didn’t want to be. I think the transformation itself was very painful, but I also think it made her feel very alienated from other people. In Vol.3, we learn a lot about his past, where he came from, who he is, and what he has been through. It is a hard road for the little animal.” James Gunn told Entertainment Weekly.
That way, it’s certain that Rocket Raccoon’s origins will be the same as in the comics, where he was created by the High Evolutionary. It is still unknown what made James Gunn reunite High Evolutionary and Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Maybe the High Evolutionary was looking for some experimental subjects, until he finally met Rocket. Or it could be that Rocket seeks revenge on his creator. Reportedly, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will tell about the death of a member of the Guardians. But no one knows the answer.
Most likely, Drax will be the one to die, considering that Dave Bautista confirmed that he was stopping playing the character after the third film. Apart from Drax, the character who was rumored to have died was Rocket. Premiere trailer Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 also seems to give a hint that Rocket will be told to die in the film.
