Explanation of the Ending of the Movie Avatar: The Way of Water!

After a long wait, Avatars: The Way of Water finally released. The film is a direct sequel to the film Avatars which was released in 2009. If you compare the visuals, The Way of Water of course look more dazzling. Especially with a much more emotional story. We are presented with the beauty of Pandora, which is filled with wild animals, and thick Na’Vi culture. So, for those of you who are confused about following the story of the film, here is an explanation of the ending Avatars: The Way of Water which we have summarized. Like what?

What Happened to Jake and Neytiri?

At the end Avatars first, Jake Sully helps the Na’Vi defeat Quaritch’s army. After the great victory achieved, Na’Vi managed to expel the humans who had inhabited Pandora. It was after that that the Na’Vi who were natives of Pandora could enjoy their peaceful period for dozens of years without human presence. But after fifteen years, Jake and Neytiri must experience another terrible incident.

The two must face the cruelty of Quaritch who came back to life using Na’Vi’s body. In fact, Jake and Neytiri have a new family with Neteyam and Lo’ak as sons, and Tuk as their daughter. Jake and Neytiri also adopted Kiri, a child mysteriously conceived in Avatar Dr. Grace, who is disabled. Meanwhile, there is another child, Spider, who becomes the “adopted child” of Jake and Neytiri.

Quaritch’s son

In The Way of Water, we are introduced to Quaritch’s kid who looks like Tarzan. So the question is when will Quaritch have children? Back to the movies Avatars first, Quaritch was finished off by Jake and Neytiri. In the second film, all the memories and consciousness of the old Quaritch were successfully inserted into the body of an avatar known as a recom (short for recombinant). Quaritch isn’t alone either, as his fallen comrades are brought back to life in the same way.

Interestingly, before Quaritch died in the first film, he had a son named Miles. Miles himself was forced to live on Pandora, when humans began to withdraw from Pandora. And because Miles was still a baby at the time, he couldn’t be put into cryosleep to return to Earth. And in the end Miles was abandoned by humans, until finally Miles was taken care of by his new family, Na’Vi. Miles grows into a strong-willed teenage boy and takes the name Spider-Man. He is also considered family by Jake Sully, although Neytiri still doubts Spider, because he is human.

What is the Relationship between Tulkun and Na’Vi?

Tulkuns are very intelligent creatures, and they can communicate with the Na’Vi. They also have their own culture, and think that peace is everything. So one day, Lo’ak, son of Jake Sully, managed to establish a connection with a Tulkun named Paykan. Paykan is a member of the “wasted” Tulkun.

Unlike the other Tulkuns who uphold peace, Paykan instead tries to initiate war, in order to take his revenge on the human who killed his mother. He wanted to start a war on the whalers. But the war he started failed, resulting in many deaths from Tulkun’s side. Paykan was responsible for many of Tulkun’s deaths. And because Paykan betrayed his nation’s culture by starting a war, that’s why he was exiled and always swimming alone in the ocean.

But in the end, Paykan meets Lo’ak, and together they face Quaritch’s brutal troops. So there’s something interesting about the connection between Tulkun and Metkayina. Killing a Tulkun means attacking Metkayina. There is a strong connection between the two. That’s why when the Metkayina found out that Tulkun was attacked, they were very angry and tried to help him.

Tulkun also holds a very valuable resource namely Amrita. When a hunter kills Tulkun, they take Amrita, the fluid from Tulkun’s brain that can stop humans from aging. That liquid is what funds the evil humans who want to build civilization on Pandora.

Events in Ending Avatar: The Way of Water

The biggest battle took place in ending The Way of Water. During the great battle, Jake and Tonowar led the Na’vi against a team of whalers and Quaritch’s army. Meanwhile, Paykan also helped in the attack, where he attacked from under the water. Neteyam then boarded a whaling ship to rescue his siblings and Tsireya, but a seemingly easy plan turned disastrous.

At that time, Neteyam was shot in the battle against Quaritch’s army. The severe injuries that Neteyam suffered were unavoidable, which eventually led to Neteyam dying. Neteyam’s death of course drowned Sully’s family in pain. With Tuk and Kiri still being held hostage, Jake and Neytiri turn the pain into hateful rage, and they return to attack Quaritch’s army alone.

The two of them managed to kill Quaritch’s troops one by one, until finally Quaritch became the last person. To protect himself, Quaritch grabs Kiri and holds him hostage. Because there was great sadness, Neytiri also took Spider hostage. At first Quartich ignores Spider, but then Quartich lets Kiri go because he doesn’t want anything to happen to Spider.

Jake used this opportunity to finish off Quaritch, but the fight between the two had to stop because the ship they were on sank. It was then that Jake and Neytiri’s children came down to save their parents. Lo’ak goes to save Jake, while Kiri uses his special connection with Eywa to enlist the help of a school of glowing fish to light his way to his mother and sister. And that’s a heroic moment that Kiri and Lo’ak did.

Sully’s New Residence

After the battle with the RDA ended and Neteyam was buried, Jake told Tonowari that he and his family were moving. Possible geeks thinking that Tonowari would be happy to see them go, given the massive damage done when Jake and his family joined. But apparently Tonowari still accepts them to stay. Tonowari even “obstinately” asked Jake to stay, and told him that his family had become part of Metkayina.

In the final dialogue, Jake decides that he will stay. “I couldn’t save my family by running.” Yep, running doesn’t stop the RDA from finding him, and running won’t undo Neteyam’s death. So now, Jake has a new, powerful ally. Jake also decided to stay at sea.

So what does that mean for a sequel Avatars 2 what’s coming next? Now, the audience may still be told about the new location and culture in Pandora, but Metkayina will still be the center of the story. And it is also possible that Jake will return to Omaticaya (where Neytiri previously lived) to unite the forces between the major Na’Vi clans. Let’s just wait geeks the story continues later.
