The Little Mermaid Trailer Releases, Halle Bailey Praises Mr Kerry Washington
JAKARTA, celebrities.id – Halle Bailey marveled at the trailer for the live action film, The Little Mermaid that she starred in. The film, which will air in 2023, shows her singing Part of Your World when she was a princess, Ariel.
“People have been sending me this reaction all weekend and I’m absolutely in awe,” Bailey wrote on Twitter.
In addition, Kerry Washington, who also watched the trailer for the film, said he was amazed by Halle Bailey.
“I can’t stop watching this,” Washington wrote.
“Halle Bailey, look what you did to us? This is amazing,” Washington wrote further.
Previously, Bailey had received racist comments from netizens because they were deemed inappropriate to play the character of Princess Ariel in The Little Mermaid. The reason, he has dark skin and hair color that does not match the character.
The Little Mermaid trailer, which will air on May 26, 2022, has gained 104 million viewers. This makes the Disney film the highest compared to others such as Beauty and the Beast with 94 million viewers, Aladdin with 74 million viewers, Cruella with 68 million viewers and Maleficient 2 with 62 million viewers.
