How to Use Breakout Room Zoom for Free

Zoom as a software provider video conferencing now people talk about it endlessly because the Zoom Meeting feature is a learning solution or online meeting.

One of the interesting features is changing the background during a conference, there is also another interesting feature, namely breakout. So, what is a breakout and how do you breakout room zoom?

What is Breakout Room Zoom?

Zoom’s breakout room feature allows you to split a video conference into even smaller sections/sessions, up to 50 separate sessions. To do this, the host in the conference can set the settings automatically or manually.

With these small sessions or rooms, it is certain that the meeting or conference participants can have more intense and private discussions.

In addition, the host can also monitor these small rooms. The good news is, even if you don’t use a Zoom Premium account, you can still use this breakout feature.

How to Use Breakout Room Zoom

No need to be confused and troubled if you want to do a breakout room zoom. Here are the complete methods:

Activate Features First

1. Open the Zoom app, then login use the account you have.
2. Click button My Accounts, then go to section Settingschoose meetings, and press In Meeting (Advanced).
3. After that, turn on the button in the Breakout Room menu.
4. Tick Allow Host to Assign Participants to Breakout Rooms When Scheduling. After checking this option, it means you can already use this breakout feature.

Using the Zoom Breakout Feature

1. After the feature is activated, now is the time for you to do a breakout room. First, make sure you host the conference that will be held.
2. Login by using your Zoom account.
3. Make a Zoom meeting or enter into a meeting (make sure you are the host)
4. The Breakout Rooms button will automatically appear at the bottom. Click the Breakout Rooms buttonthen enter the number of rooms to be created.
5. If it is already, click Assign Participants into Rooms.
6. If you want meeting participants to be divided into rooms automatically, you can click Automatically. On the other hand, if you want to organize the participants, click on the posts Manually.
7. If you choose manually, you can instruct participants to enter the created room.

Close Breakout Room Zoom

Then what if you want to close the room breakout that has been made? It’s easy, just press the Open All Rooms button, then select Close All Rooms. Automatically, the created room will disappear, where the participants will return to the main room.

Participant Features During Breakout Rooms

Don’t worry, the Zoom features for participants in the Zoom breakout will not change. Participants can still access features such as video, sound, chat, presentations, and others.

This feature will of course make it easier for participants to have more intense discussions than discussing in the main room. The host will also easily monitor the discussion process for each room session.

But keep in mind, this feature has a room limit, which is 50. So you can only divide participants into 50 rooms. Looks like the number of limit rooms is more than enough, huh!
