How to Unlock MiFi XL GO Modem

MiFi XL GO is one of the most widely used wifi modems, especially by XL users.

There are several types of XL GO modems that you can get at official stores or order online, namely HKM 001, Huawei E5573 and Huawei E5577 Max.

I myself have been a Huawei E5577 modem user since 2022, until now I still use the modem every day to support my internet activities at home.

But it’s a shame because usually every modem launched by a certain provider can’t be used for all cards.

Therefore, there is the term unlock modem for users who want to use a card other than XL in their Mifi Xl Go modem. This method is very easy to do and must be in the order that we will provide below.

How to Unlock MiFi XL GO

  1. First make sure you are connected to the modem, can use wifi, usb data cable connected to a laptop or cellphone.
  2. Open a browser for example Chrome then type in the URL address with 192.168.8.1 or can access http://xl.go
  3. You have to login first by entering your username and password, if it’s still the default for login data the username and password is admin.
  4. After successfully logging in, now upgrade the firmware to the latest one. This menu is located on the top right of the XL GO logo. Updates from MV003.B03 to MV003.B06.
  5. Make sure the xl card used on the modem is connected to the internet, and also make sure the battery condition is still above 50%.
  6. Wait until the firmware upgrade process is complete.
  7. This process usually takes between 5 to 7 minutes.
  8. Wait until the 4 indicator light turns white.
  9. If so, now try to change your card with another operator and try to connect to the internet.
  10. Done.

Attention: This XL MiFi modem is not suitable for use with Smartfren cards, so please try with a card other than Smartfren.
