Tutorial on how to run CGI proxy on shared hosting
There are several things to consider when creating a proxy website, including the security of the users who are using it and what type of program you want to run. There are currently more than 5 programs to create the best web proxy and the most popular is called Glype because it is very easy to use, from the installation process to visiting websites, whether it has a security certificate or not at all , it can run right on Glype.
Then there is someone who creates a web proxy just to make it an intermediary for the browser, or you could say Front query when calling any existing url. One of them used is CGI proxy program. Now please enter FTP and upload the CGI file earlier and modify it afterwards chmod or permission to become 755.
Now try to access the CGI proxy file, it must be open.
If you have an error problem accessing the CGI proxy, try the section. to change $ NOT_RUNNING_AS_NPH how 1 and access it again.
For some types of problems, accessing the URL shows only text code and no highlighted form at all Server does not activate the CGI module, then won’t be able to access certified websites like google and others because they weren’t set up as in the example above and there are still many kinds of errors in the CGI proxy that can occur. It would be better if the CGI proxy ran on a website that supports SSL so that the security of the users who use it can be guaranteed.
I recommend using version 2.1.6 as it is stable and it would be better to use a lower version so it can run without too many problems. Also, sometimes people forget not to set the permissions to 755, which leads to errors, the HTTP 500, 403, 401 etc. From personal experience installing on a website that doesn’t support it SSL or HTTPS, most likely cannot access Facebook and fill in the captcha in the Google search engine.
