Namecheap logo

There can be many website owners who don’t understand what it is. “Private name serverIts purpose is to create a name server with its own domain that will be referenced according to the IP on the website’s server. Allows to make the website more professional and stylish. There are many hostings that share free private name servers , but only in packages VPS / Dedicated Servers only, but there are also some hostings that offer free packages Shared hosting.

By using a private name server, you can have a name server with your own domain. For example ns1.yourdomain.com & ns2.yourdomain.com. This time, I’m going to share the procedure for using a private name server from a domain provider in Indonesia Name cheap in my own experience. : Mr. Green:
Please refer to the procedure below.

  1. First, contact hosting support to find out the IP that will be used to create a private name server. In principle, several sequential IPs are assigned, at least 2 IPs

  2. If you also have the IP address, please save it first and enter Namecheap. If you are logged in, please go to the menu Domains then click Manage domains and select the domain for which you want to change the name server.

  3. Then click on menu Name server registration. On this page there is a column to fill in the IP. Please fill in the column with the IP provided by the hosting provider in order. If so, please click the button Add name server. To check whether the entered IP is correct or not, you can go to the menu Find all existing nameservers

  4. Now please go to the menu Setting up the domain name server and change the old nameservers to nameservers with their own domain. As an an example
    ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com.

  5. After that, just wait about 12 hours for the DNS update. 48 hours maximum.

By using a private name server has no influence on SERP as long as the hosting server is in the same country location. And you don’t have to wait for DNS updates when using a private nameserver on the same hosting as before.

Maybe it is almost the same with other domain providers this way, and what you need to know There is no need to change the IP address assigned by the hosting provider.
