How to break the quota limit on Google Drive

How to break the quota limit on Google Drive

Many people save files on Google Drive with the aim of keeping them safe and not getting lost. Any type of file in Google Drive can also be easily shared with the public. However, Google also gives a limit on the total number of file downloads per day.

So if the file has been downloaded by many people in a short period of time, it won’t be temporarily available until the next day. A warning appears on this page “Quota limit exceeded” or “Quota limit exceeded“.

When the notification is displayed, the download button disappears, preventing users from downloading it. But there is a way to re-download the file, and it just takes a little trick.

Solution for quota limit exceeded on Google Drive

It doesn’t take long to download the file again. The point is, you just have to Copy target files into your Google Drive account. So make sure you already have a Google account. And here are the steps to exceed the quota limit when downloading files on GDrive.

  1. Please sign in to Google Drive first.

  2. Then access the file that you want to download.

  3. Remove the parameter in the URL of the file & export = download and change uc Will open minded. Then go to the URL. Here is an example:

    BEFORE

    https://drive.google.com/uc? id = qWG1Xv_pilK-gUFrIAJKgievQ& export = download

    AFTER

    https://drive.google.com/open minded? id = qWG1Xv_pilK-gUFrIAJKgievQ

  4. After that, open your Google Drive account and click on Menu Shared with me.

    Click on the menu

  5. The file will appear there later. Please right click and select Make a copy.

Select the Make a Copy menu

  6. And back to the menu, please My ride and download the file from the copy you made.

    Solution for quota limit overrun

All in all, files whose download has been restricted by Google can still be copied with a different Drive account. The above method is very simple and quick, but it may take a while to complete for the first time.

Check for copies of files on Google Drive

After you have successfully copied the destination file, all you have to do is wait a few seconds and a file with the name will appear Copy_FileName. This is the file that was successfully copied and you can now download it.

If you don’t see the file named Copies, please reload Google Drive page, it will be shown later. Also, make sure that your Google Drive storage space is still available to copy the target file, because if that is not enough, the copy process will of course fail.
