Solution for Asus Zenfone 5 Flash failed (installation aborted)

Solution for Asus Zenfone 5 Flash failed (installation aborted)

It’s really annoying when you flash your phone on a computer and wait a long time, but it doesn’t work at all. But of course there is a solution for every problem, just like the Asus Zenfone 5 phone which failed during the flashing process.

This article only discusses Zenfone 5 phones with the type T00F and T00J, because otherwise I have less experience myself. So usually the error is when flashing on the telephone system and not from the ADB side.

If the firmware package is sent to the cellphone via ADB, it can be 100% smooth, but when the cellphone has loaded or is loading to install the new firmware, an error pops up and ends with the words Installation aborted.

That is why this article is made to help users who have the same problem as above so that they don’t have to worry too much and you should use the method shared here.

Overcome the aborted installation on the Flash Zenfone 5

So share that only for KitKat OS, but if the problem occurs on Lollipop OS, all you have to do is copy it recovery.img from KitKat only for the flash process. So what is needed first is the firmware. Make sure the user has downloaded the firmware. Then see below.

  1. Open the firmware archive and extract only the boot.img, fastboot.img and recovery.img files.

  2. Move the three files to the ADB directory. For example like this.

Fix Zenfone 5 KitKat Flash failed

  3. If so, please switch to Fastboot mode by pressing the power button and the volume up button at the same time.

  4. In this fastboot mode, open the command prompt that leads to the ADB folder directly and enter it again.

fastboot flash boot boot.imgfastboot flash fastboot fastboot.imgfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
  5. Then try to flash the phone. It must have worked now.

Pretty easy, isn’t it? If the user already understands the flash process, I guarantee the user will complete the above steps successfully. So it’s about replacing parts Fastboot, recovery and boot be as before or original.

Cause can’t blink

It still cannot be said that only one thing caused this problem. But the only thing I ever experienced was when the phone was rooted and after that this problem came up and the solution was to do the above and the phone could be flashed normally.

The best advice if the phone has been rooted is to install a custom recovery like TWRP. So everything stays safe in handling soft brick somehow Boot loop. I have not made it yet Flash tutorial about this phone but if the user wants me to make a special article for it, please feel free to comment.

Hopefully useful and good luck
