Setting up TightVNC for faster server connection

There are so many VNC viewer programs out there that have their own advantages, including TightVNC. The program is very widely used by people to do a lot of things with VNC. and VNC has almost the same properties as RDP, except that RDP is usually only suitable for Windows. Before that, I also shared the best VNC viewer for Android, which is Remote Ripple and its features too, but of course it’s nothing compared to TightVNC on a PC.

TightVNC Viewer is a clever way to give users seamless access to virtual machines such as remote desktops. So the program follows the existing network speed to compress it. But do users know there is? this setting on TightVNC which can make it faster, maybe 2x faster than usual. And this method also has some disadvantages as the image quality is different than usual.

Knowing that what is driving the data up is an image, users can use this TightVNC viewer to set the image quality as poor as possible and also Increase the compression to make the server easier to access. I’ll discuss this and it’s best to only do this method when the internet connection is really slow. Here is the procedure.

  1. First, open the TightVNC Viewer on a PC and just open the menu Options.

  2. In the Preferred Encoding section, set As Fixed, Tick section Set a custom compression level and maximize on Preferably. Then take a look Allow JPEG, set image quality and subtract quality until poor or 0 quality.

  3. Save now and try to log into VNC. It must have been faster than before. And the resulting picture will be worse, but the connection will be faster.

  4. So that it doesn’t get too bad, put it on the Allow JPEG, set image quality Add quality at 2 or 3.

Basically, the higher the set image quality, the better the image that is displayed, but the more data is output. And the less you set the image quality, the worse the image will be displayed, but the data output is very low and the connection becomes faster.

Basically TightVNC Viewer can also set this up automatically based on the connection, but some people prefer to save data so they keep the image quality as small as possible so that very little data comes out as most people only use VNC to download and upload something to the internet. If you have anything to ask, please comment.

Hopefully useful and good luck
