Gadgetren – Shopee presents the ShopeePay service after approving the digital wallet it created and obtaining permission to provide e-money services from Bank Indonesia (BI).
With this digital wallet and Shopee’s electronic currency service, users can make transactions more easily. This service can be an alternate payment method and offer refunds.
By using this service, Shopee users can also receive various benefits from attractive promotions such as discounted prices, cashback and even free shipping.
In addition, Shopee users can make payments faster because they don’t have to move applications or leave home to make money transfers.
This service was actually introduced a long time ago. However, in 2021 there was a new policy from Bank Indonesia regarding electronic currencies that required the service to be discontinued.
Just like TokoCash’s Tokopedia, Bukalapaks BukaDompet, Grabs GrabPay, and Paytren, ShopeePay has to temporarily stop reloading services.
However, since it was possible to obtain an e-money license from Bank Indonesia at the end of 2021, ShopeePay was finally restarted and implemented in the Shopee application in January 2021.
Therefore, ShopeePay can currently be used to conduct payment transactions across the Shopee ecosystem. It’s just that users need to charge first in order to be used.
How to top up ShopeePay to top up your credit
- Open the Shopee app
- Click the tab on the far right (Me)
- Search and select ShopeePay
- Tap the button REFILL
- Next, select the nominal top-up to be performed
- Select the payment method you want to use
- Continue by pressing the button PAY NOW
On the next page, Shopee displays instructions as well as a payment account (virtual account) according to the previously selected method. To do this, follow the instructions carefully.
Unfortunately, users can no longer top up through Shopee partners such as Alfamart and Indomaret. In particular, this policy applies from March 15, 2021.
