New functions of the Opera browser on the PC
Opera is currently one of the lightest browsers compared to the others. Compared to Mozilla or Chrome, Opera is much easier to access even on PCs with lower specifications. Opera is still a Chromium browser just like the UC browser is the same, but Opera has its own differences and features. Since the Opera program is always updated without sending any notifications, some users get confused when they may experience the weirdness of visiting a website.
In the past the Opera browser was very simple and had few features, but now it has been updated to version 37.0.xx and is constantly being updated to add more features. One of the newest features that a lot of people including me like is live wallpaper, so Users won’t get bored with Opera as it has a lot of HD backgrounds that can move. A news function has also been embedded in the navigation area, with which users can continue to see the latest information and never miss any updates from social media.
There are tons of news topics to choose from, as well as countries that can be changed, that is possible Users can search all news information in a specific country. The news feature can be displayed or hidden directly in a menu in the sidebar. For the extension area the placement is still the same and all Chrome extensions can also be installed on Opera. Back in the Themes or Background Image section, users can create their own background images with prepared images and as a suggestion with Full HD resolution to make them look better and not blurry.
I have been using Opera for about 2 years and have never experienced any bugs and I am still happy with it, so when I use Opera and multitask with big programs like Photoshop and play videos on VLC it still works without any lag even though I have RAM Use only 2 GB. The download functionality has been the same since the past and there has been no development to make it any better. This is why a lot of people use IDM in all browsers because the download functions in all browsers still don’t have more functionality. Here are some of the new features in Opera 37.0.xx.
- Background and live background added – Previously Opera only displayed simple background images, but now users can replace them with live wallpapers or you can say moving pictures and users can get them right from the theme menu in Opera. There are many HD images, and one image can be as high as 1MB and more.
- Customize your own font – Now users can customize the fonts that appear on the site as they see fit, but not all sites can change the font as many sites use their own fonts straight from the template, while Opera can only change some fonts on sites that do its not applying its own fonts. - Share video – With a feature called Split Video, users can manage everything in the video. Examples expand shrinkage and others. This feature is shown above when the video is playing. When the cursor is over the video, you will see a small button in the top center that is used to split videos. This is especially useful for websites that frame videos with small frame sizes so that users can expand them with this feature.
- AD block – Previously, Opera only offered a pop-up ad blocking feature, but now it has an AD blocking feature that can block all ad content so you can browse websites quickly. This AD block function can be switched on or off in the data protection settings and is the right of every user. If you look further, the AD block in the Opera settings still has to be combined with the ADBlock Plus extension in order to block double ads more correctly.
- New forms of navigation – Users can now customize the shape of the navigation to make it look clearer than before. For example, removing the Add Site button, viewing history, bookmarks, and others not. There is also a feature in the navigation settings to change the wallpaper directly so that users don’t have to go back to the settings if they want to quickly change the wallpaper.
In fact, there are even more features that weren’t mentioned above, but unfortunately these features are still not fully supported to be enabled. In a future update, a VPN function will therefore be provided directly from the settings via the Opera SurfEasy website. This way, users can safely browse the internet without worrying about someone sniffing. This VPN is very necessary for users who use a WiFi network on a daily basis as this network can be used for eavesdropping which results in users stealing data when opening social media or important accounts.
With the help of a VPN you can of course also manipulate the current location abroad so that the privacy of the users is protected and nobody can track them, even though it is a tracker tool on the website. However, if users don’t want to wait for this feature and want to try it out right away, all they have to do is go to the Opera extensions page and install SurfEasy. In fact, this expansion process basically takes longer than the features in direct settings, however It never hurts to try and wait for this VPN feature to become available in a future update.
