How to test iOS 12 Public Beta, iPhone 5s can work too
Gadgetren – iOS 12 was officially unveiled by Apple at WWDC 2021 held last June.
iOS 12 for the iPhone itself will reportedly focus more on optimization and performance improvements than adding new features. This is of course to be welcomed if Apple manages to make the iPhone even faster in a number of ways, especially when it comes to opening applications.
The good news is that iOS 12 is downloadable up to the iPhone 5s generation, which means Apple is offering software support for the first time in 5 years. No wonder when you consider that the iPhone 5s actually uses a 64-bit architectural processor, so it should still have performance that is no inferior to most smartphones today.
Apple recently tried to provide updates that make older devices lighter. One thing Apple has done is reduce the capacity used by the system and provide the offload feature for applications that are rarely used so that older devices with small storage capacities can be a little more flexible.
Now in iOS 12 itself, one of the most anticipated changes is the grouping of notifications per application and also an increase in performance of up to 70% for certain applications. In addition, there are settings to adjust the processor speed so that the battery life can be longer.

Here’s how to download the iOS 12 Public Beta
- Visit the Apple Beta Software Program page at this link with an iPhone.
- Sign in with your iCloud account.
- Next, you will be asked to register the iPhone device in use.
- Download the new profile configuration from Apple.
- After the iPhone restarts automatically, go to Settings> General> Software Update.
- You will see a new update in the form of iOS 12 Public Beta.
- Download and install the update, then wait for the process to complete.
- Eventually the iPhone will restart again and you will be able to start using the iOS 12 Public Beta immediately when it turns on.
Just right? Don’t forget that before updating, you should first create a thorough iPhone backup using iTunes software on your laptop or computer. This way, if you don’t like the iOS 12 update, you can easily revert to the previous version of iOS.
