How to temporarily deactivate the chat function on Facebook
Chatting, or generally viewed as chatting, is a normal thing that is done by every Facebook user. The chat function is also used directly in messaging, where every time a user chats with friends it is saved in the message history. In addition, users can also use this chat feature with many friends with the intention of not just having one friend. Some people don’t want chat and this needs to have an explanation, for example a friend who has a bad character but the user doesn’t want to break their friendship on Facebook.
By temporarily switching off this chat, you can also make the user appear offline for a long time. Even if the user remains online but does not enable chat, they will not be recognized as online even if included in the message. The function to disable this chat has been around for a long time and was only available in the desktop version of Facebook, but now this chat function can be felt on every mobile phone, be it a Java phone in the Mobile Basic version of Facebook.
The feature to disable the chat on Facebook will be clearly visible if directly monitored by Facebook Mobile Basic, but if you have to go to the chat settings on a PC and not everyone understands the correct procedure. It should also be noted in advance that Muting this chat is only temporary until the user reactivates it. and is not permanent so there is no need to worry if you want to use it. The point is that users can stay away from friends who are rude in character or who may not want to chat with anyone.
Perhaps users think that disabling the chat feature won’t be able to contact anyone on Facebook, but that’s not true because Users can still use the messaging functions on Facebook. This chat feature is only used to tamper with the user account so that it does not appear in friends’ chats and appears to be offline. I do this myself when a stranger keeps asking me to chat and I don’t know what else to say. One way to stay away from it is to turn this chat off and it will work satisfactorily. Facebook desktop version
First, open a Facebook account and just look for the chat menu on the bottom right on the home page.
Please click the Gear or Options button as shown below and a submenu will appear.

Facebook Mobile basic version
Please first open a Facebook account and click on the menu on the home page Chat next to the notification menu.

I deliberately didn’t provide an option for the touch version of Facebook as it is almost identical to the Mobile Basic version of Facebook, and to reactivate it, just click on the menu Turn on chat or Activate chat and the chat can be used again immediately. This method is safe, albeit many times, and won’t lock your Facebook account or anything like that. Sometimes the user will still be visible online if viewed from the message’s online history and there is no other way to make them invisible unless the user actually goes offline properly.
In addition to completely disabling the chat, users can also disable this chat for selected friends only. This function is only available in the desktop version of Facebook and cannot be performed in the mobile basic version of Facebook.
