Gadgetren – Though established since 2011, the name Zoom became hugely popular during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.

This can happen because many people in different countries including Indonesia use Zoom as a video conferencing application to meet users in person as they work, teach, study, or just keep in touch.

As a video conferencing application, Zoom has pretty full functionality from recording meeting calls, video calls (you can add a background), sharing screens to share presentations, to mute to turn off our microphone audio so other attendees can’t hear it.

With the microphone audio mute function (mute), participants presenting or delivering material are not disturbed by ambient noise.

How to mute audio while zooming

  1. Open the Zoom app and Sign up account
  2. After successfully logging in, you will be taken to the main page of the Zoom application
  3. Create a meeting or join an existing one based on your goals
  4. Search button Mute Microphone icon in the lower left corner of the app
  5. When the button Mute is pressed, the sound from the microphone is automatically not picked upZoom mute

You could say that this muting feature makes it easier to make meetings more conducive, as all attendees can turn off the microphone audio to allow the host or presenter to focus more on the material.

However, if you want to ask questions or talk to other attendees, you can hit the microphone icon button in the bottom left of the application that says now unmute. In fact, the host can also mute the microphone sound of all participants at the same time.

Typically, for several events I meet on Zoom, the host mutes attendees’ microphone sound during the event, from the opening of the MC to greetings from senior officials and product explanation materials.

In the meantime, when the product explanation is complete, attendees can unmute if they want to ask questions about the material being explained. However, many participants only choose the Chat column on Zoom to communicate.
