Easy Ways To Check COVID-19 Information On WhatsApp To Make It More Reliable

Check the COVID-19 information in the WhatsApp header

Gadgetren – Reliable information is urgently needed amid the current COVID-19 outbreak. Fortunately, several related institutions have prepared bots on the WhatsApp service to anticipate this.

There’s no denying that the COVID-19 outbreak has panicked some people. This is also used by people who are not responsible for personal gain by spreading information that is not clear.

Because of this, in addition to being clean and following some government advice, we also need to fight fake news in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak.

One of the simplest methods is to narrow down the sources of information by only reading information from official institutions or organizations.

In addition, in this case, access to information from institutions and organizations is now very easy. However, you can even do this with just the WhatsApp application.

For those of you who don’t know, the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, WhatsApp and the Telekom Group recently launched a special chatbot service that provides reliable information on COVID-19.

The chatbot called covid19.go.id packs various types of information from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia into interactive conversations.

You can access this official government service by sending a message to 0811133399000. Messages sent can contain greetings, such as: Hello, Good Morning, Good night, and so forth.

As a world health institution, the World Health Organization (WHO) also offers WhatsApp chatbot services specifically for COVID-19. The service can be reached by sending a message with the words Hi to +41798931892.

Similar to covid19.go.id, this WHO chatbot service also provides reliable information on COVID-19. All you need to know is that this chatbot service is still available in English.

In addition to the two chatbot services, you can also get reliable information about COVID-19 through the U-Report Indonesia chatbot, launched by the UNICEF Indonesia agency.

Access to it is more or less the same as the previous two services where you just need to send a message with the words corona to the number 08119004567 via the WhatsApp application.

By using the three chatbot services mentioned above, we can easily avoid a lot of misinformation. It should be emphasized, however, that the three services are not necessarily capable of breaking up the growing stream of fake news.

To do this, you need to filter the information received, verify its accuracy and stop the flow of information by not disclosing it to other people if you cannot find the truth.
